I've been making dairy-free milk for a number of years and I've played around with so many recipes tweaking along the way. I've eventually come to the conclusion that I need to make a recipe that works for my tastes, easy to make and fuss-free. So here's my recipe that you might want to try or adapt to suit your needs.

What you'll need
Ingredients
100g cashews
12 almonds
1 teaspoon oats
600ml filter cold water
Equipment
Powerful blender
Nut-seed bag or muslin bag
Measuring jug
Storage container
Scales
Teaspoon
How to make fast dairy-free milk
Measure out the ingredients and add to the blender container
Blend as needed until smooth.
Wash your hands
Pop the nut-seed bag into a jug
The pour the blended mix into the nut-seed bag.
Use your hands to squeeze any remain liquid out of the bag.
Pour the nut-milk into a store container and refrigerate between use.
Storing nut-milk
This recipe last in the fridge for about three days as it has no preserving agents. As this nut-milk is so easy to make and takes about three minutes to make I make little often. I tend to make 2-3 times a week depending on what I need it for.
Make it creamier
If you'd like a more richer or creamer texture then add more nuts before blending.
What can nut milk be used for?
Great in hot drinks like coffee and tea
Great for shakes and smoothies
Ideal for dessert like my easy Chai dessert
Great on cereals
Works well replacing milk when making a sauce.
