As a vegetarian cooking without a veggie stock cube was a no-no.
I used to buy those vegetable stock cubes from the supermarket never even read the ingredients. For some strange reason one day maybe whilst waiting for my dinner to cook I read the back of the pack. I then realise most of the bulk was palm oil. PALM OIL!. Yikes and loads of salt and a little few other spices.
I decided to opt to change my ways and buy some of the veggie stock powder. How much? I put on my thinking cap on and after some research came up with a recipe. Tried, tested and tweaked the recipe and it works for my needs.

I use my veggie stock powder in many dishes, soups, veggie spaghetti, pasta bakes, stews and veggie meatless ball recipe. A little does go a long way so a teaspoon should serves enough flavour for two people, but really depends on your taste.
In the long run I am getting flavour and not bulk and I can pimp my veggie stock powder blend to suit my tastes.
Now I know this works for me I make a full jar and last a couple of months before I need to make more. It is easy to make. The hardest part was finding the ingredients. The super market had most of them, but I had to buy some from an online food specialist.
Cheats veggie stock powder recipe

Ingredients
1 teaspoon celery powder (if you're using celery salt don't add anymore salt)
2 teaspoons tomato powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/4 teaspoons turmeric powder
1/2 garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper powder
Pinch salt (optional)
Pinch rosemary (ground to powder)
1/2 teaspoon nutritious yeast powder (optional)
1/2 teaspoon celeriac powder (optional)
You can scale up the quantities to make larger batches. But start off with a small sample and tweak the recipe with the ingredients to suit your taste.
Method
Add all the powders to a sealable container.
Secure the lid.
Give it a good shake to mix up the powders. Your done.
Where to buy ingredients
Most of the ingredients can be found in the supermarket, but as I was making to so often I need to buy some ingredient in bulk. I found Sous Chef to be a great source of herbs and spices.
