You may have heard of shampoo bars and they have been around for years but recently before popular. To accompany a shampoo bar you need a good conditioner bar. These can be a little tricky and quite expensive in the shops. A conditioner bar lasts a long time as you do not need as much to condition your hair. When I firs use one I felt I did not have enough to coat my hair but surprising it was more than enough.

My conditioner bars use some lovely ingredients and ideal for normal and colour-treated hair types. My conditioner bars include shea butter, mango butter, avocado oil, wheatgerm oil and vitamin E. I also include vitamin B5 to help with the conditioning which is said to strengthen and nourishing hair follicles for healthy hair.

How to use a conditioner bar

There are two main ways you can use a conditioner bar and you could use a combination both methods as you see fit.

Bar application

Once your hair is wet, wet the conditioner bar and gentle drag the bar through your hair several times. Put the bar to the side and massage through you hair. You do not need very much product. You may feel you need to repeat. Once your hair is conditioned just rinse before drying.

Rub in your hands

If you prefer you can wet the conditioner bar and rub in your hands to produce a little . Pop the conditioner bar to the side then stroke through your hair and massage in as usual. You may need to repeat a few times depending on the length of your hair. Then rinse out your hair before drying.

Care instructions for your conditioner bar

After you've used your conditioner bar it's important to allow to dry out between uses. This will help make the bar last longer and avoid going all gloopy. You can place in a soap dish away from the shower if possible. I prefer a wooded soap rack to a dish and a dish can gather water that you bar will just sit in. Once dry, you can store in a travel tin or just leave on the soap rack.

Travelling with your conditioner bar

Taking a conditioner bar when travelling or going on holiday is just ideal. It takes less space the a standard bottle of conditioner and a bar do lasts a very long time. Also there's not chance of the conditioner leaking out of the bottle and getting all over your holiday gear. You can transported it in a soap tin or a travel soap box. And, in hand luggage they will not count towards your liquid allowance either. Just make sure your conditioner bar has dried out before you pack it away.

Reducing hair static

The best way to reduce hair static is to avoid combing your hair with a plastic comb or brush. The plastic in the comb or brush generates static each time you comb your hair. To avoid this static build up that makes your hair float up is to use a wooden comb or a brush with natural bristles.
